TidyURL started from a simple frustration: link shorteners rent you someone else's domain, slow every click with a detour, and pad your stats with bots, crawlers and link-preview pings. You end up guessing which clicks were actual people.

TidyURL fixes that. Your links live on your own domain, redirect instantly with a 307, and every click is checked so Slackbot and Twitterbot don't count as customers. "This link got 900 clicks" becomes "this link got 412 real humans."

It's small on purpose: no tracking cookies, no ad networks, no selling your data. And it's open source, so you can host it yourself and make it your own.
